SHEHBA - Kongreya Star issued a press statement at the Serdem Camp and called on the women of the world for the women of Afrin.

 

Kongreya Star Afrin organization issued a press statement at the Serdem Camp located in Sosin village of Shehba’s Fafin district within the scope of “Women Rise up for Afrin” campaign. Women drew attention to the attacks on women in Afrin in the press statement held with the participation of women of Afrin and Shehba.

 

The women held banners reading, “No to violence against women”, “No to rape against the women of Afrin”, “The women of Afrin are being raped” and “The women of the world should rise up for the women of Afrin”. Hevin Sileman, a member of Kongreya Star administration, read the press statement and she emphasized that conspiracy against the Middle East and the Kurdish people has been repeated. Saying that the demographic structure of Afrin was changed, Hevin noted that the people coming from Guta have been settled in Afrin. Hevin said “The Rojava Revolution is a women’s revolution and for this reason, the enemy first target the women.” Hevin pointed out the recently sexual assaults, abductions and massacres against women in Afrin.

 

‘Women of the world should rise up’

 

Hevin lastly said, “The people of Afrin in Shehba have organized themselves. Afrin will win in the line of Leader Abdullah Öcalan with strong will. As Kongreya Star, we strongly condemn the attacks on women of Afrin. We call on the women in the world to rise up for the women of Afrin.”
