TJA members open election campaign booth by playing erbane

DİYARBAKIR - Free Women’s Movement (TJA) women have opened an election campaign booth in Diyarbakır’s Bağlar district by playing erbane (a musical instrument) and dancing the halay. Police tried to attack the women and told the women, “We can do everything under the state of emergency condition.”
Organizations of the Free Women’s Movement (TJA), have opened an election campaign booth in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır province. The women gathering in front of the building of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) marched to the election campaign booth in Bağlar by playing erbane. The HDP’s candidates for nomination and many citizens joined the march. The women carrying the flag of the HDP chanted the slogans such as, “Long live women’s resistance”, “We will win by resisting” and “Women, Life, Freedom”. Police tried to attack the women.
Police threatened the women
Police intervened in slogans and threatened the women by saying, “We can do everything under the state of emergency condition. We have rights to mess here up.” Despite the threats of the police, the women continued to march by chanting slogans and the shopkeepers supported them.
The election campaign booth was opened
Peace Mothers member Rahime İnce spoke during the opening ceremony of the election campaign booth and she said, “We hope the election campaign booth of the HDP will make a contribution to peace and freedom. The HDP is the peace of all peoples.
The police tried to attack the women again while the women were chanting slogans and dancing the halay in front of the election campaign booth. Despite all barriers of the police, the women continued to dance the halay.
