DİYARBAKIR - No one has been sentenced in the case of Ali Tekdağ, who was killed inDerkam village of Diyarbakır’s Lice district six years ago. His mother Fikriye Tekdağ says her son was killed by her brother and she claims that his brother was released after being in prison for only two months because he has connection with the state.

Father of four Ali Tekdağ was killed in the Derkam village of Diyarbakır’s Lice district in July, 2012. According to the claims of his mother Fikriye Tekdağ, her son was killed by her brother Bahri Bansi and his sons Mahmut and Aziz. Ali’s family claims that Bahri was released after being in prison for only two months although he confessed he had killed Ali during the investigation because he has connection with the state. Mother Fikriye has been waiting her son’s killers to be tried again.

‘First torture then murder’

Expressing that she doesn’t know why her son was killed, Fikriye said, “My brother Bahri and his sons raided our house and inflicted violence against my son. Then my brother Bahri killed my son with a bullet. There are still the bullet marks on the wall of house of my son’s family.”

‘They released him due to the lack of evidence’

Fikriye reacts to the release of her brother and his sons after being held in prison for two months and she said, “They arrested them and they were held in prison for two months. They released them due to the lack of evidence. Bahri said he had killed Ali because Ali had helped “the (terrorist) organization’ and he had gave them “food” during his testimony. He was released after his testimony. Bahri said ‘Everyone should be afraid of us’ after killing my son.”

‘The killers should be tried’

Saying that no one called them to testify after her son had been killed, Fikriye continued to speak as follows; “No one called us to testify, we went there by ourselves and told them they (Bahri and his sons) had killed Ali. But other gave different evidences so they found the testimonies as inconsistent. Killers of my son should be punished but they live freely. I think they have connection with the state and they are village guards. Because the state didn’t give them any sentence. I demand the offenders to be tried again.”
