DİYARBAKIR - Peace Mothers Assembly celebrated the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s birthday (On April 4) and demanded the immediate lift of the isolation imposed on him.
Peace Mother Assembly members celebrated the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s birthday. During the celebration, Ayşe Türkmen made a statement on behalf of Peace Mothers and she stated that they wish this year be the year of freedom for Abdullah Öcalan.
Ayşe said, “Wars and attacks have increased in Kurdistan and Turkey since the leader was put in the prison. Finally, they carried this war to Afrin. Intense attacks are being carried out in Afrin now and hundreds of people were killed due to these attacks. And hundreds have been displaced from their lands and homeland.”
‘We go after the freedom’
Noting that they want the war to be ended as the Peace Mother, Ayşe added, “We want this war to be ended. Turkish state should get out from Afrin. Afrin is not its land and city. We don’t want anyone to be killed anymore. The leader (Abdullah Öcalan) can find a solution to this war and these attacks. Therefore, the isolation imposed on him should be lifted. We have gone after the freedom for years and we will continue to go after it.”
“What does the state want from the Kurdish people?” asked Peace Mother Rahime İnce and she said, “If we came their lands, they would be right but we didn’t. They live on our lands. All we want is the freedom of our leader. The isolation should be lifted immediately. A war has been carried out against the Kurdish people for years and only he can find a solution for this war.”
