URFA - Nine months old Arin, who has been held in Urfa T-type Prison No. 2 with her mother Esma Yılmaz is waiting for a response from the Mardin Execution Court to her mother’s application that demand to be released under judicial supervision.

 

Esma Yılmaz, former Co-chair of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) organization in Mardin’s Ömerli district, was detained in 2016 and she was released after three months in prison. On November 29, 2017, she was arrested again and sent to Urfa T-type Prison No. 2 with her daughter nine-month-old Arin. Esma has been accused of “aiding and abetting a (terrorist) organization” by the Provincial High Court and Court of Appeal.

 

Nine months old Arin suffers from asthma and she has to be under health control. Esma sent a letter from the prison and she wrote what Arin faces in the prison as follows; “Arin has been diagnosed with asthma. Look after her is even more difficult in prison condition. She needs to be always under control and take additional food. But these are impossible in prison.”

 

Esma has already applied to the Mardin Execution Court to be released under judicial supervision and she is waiting for a response from the court. And, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MPs applied to the Ministry of Justice for Esma.
