Soldiers attack commemoration for Fidan Doğan

MARAŞ - Soldiers attacked the women wanting to commemorate Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) member Fidan Doğan (Rojbîn), who was killed in Paris in 2013. The soldiers removed the yellow, red and green cover wrapped her headstone and took carnations on her grave.
Commemorations have been held in many places on the occasion of the 5th year of the murder of Sakine Cansız (Sara), one of the co-founders of the PKK, Fidan Doğan (Rojbîn), member of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) and Leyla Şaylemez (Ronahî), member of the Kurdish Youth Organization. Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MPs Leyla Birlik and Dilek Öcalan, the party’s members, administrators of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), members of the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) wanted to hold a commemoration for Fidan Doğan upon her grave in Molebutton village of Maraş’s Elbistan district.
The delegation faced the police barriers at the entrance of the district after waiting for a while, they entered the village. The delegation then was prevented from entering the cemetery by the soldiers.
The women entered the cemetery despite the obstacles and they put red carnations on Fidan’s grave. Just then, the soldiers attacked them and insulted them. The soldiers took the women away from the cemetery and removed the yellow, red and green cover wrapped Fidan’s headstone and took carnations on her grave.
