A man named K.C. working for a primary school in Polatlı district of Ankara province has been jailed over sexually abusing 15 students of the school upon the complaints of families. Independent MP Aylin Nazlıaka has posed a parliamentary question to the Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım on this issue.
Aylin said, “I will contact with the family to not be afraid and to say we are stand by them. We run out of patience. We face another child abuse incident every day. These incidents aren’t several, they are systematic. It is not a coincidence that child abuse increased by 700 percent in the last 10 years.”
‘Turkey ranks number three in child abuse in the world’
“Young brains are being taken away from contemporary, scientific, secular and egalitarian education and reactionary teachings are taking the place of the science. The statements of some people saying, ‘The children aged six can marry’, and ‘The children aged nine can marry and become pregnant’ increase the attacks on the children’s bodies. According to data given by the Ministry of Justice, Turkey ranks number three in child abuse in the world.”
