Dirayet Taşdemir: Women’s organized struggle will overcome fascism

VAN - “We will not accept the fate appraised for women. As women, we will stretch our struggle against ongoing fascism like Sakine Cansız, who didn’t bow down to tortures during Kenan Evren period,” said HDP Ağrı MP Dirayet Taşdemir during the conference organized by HDP Van Women’s Assembly.
 
Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Van Women’s Assembly held a conference at Eğitim Sen (Teachers’ Union) Van Branch with the motto, “We have something to say, we have power to change.” HDP Van MP Bedia Özgökçe Ertan, HDP Ağrı MP Dilan Dirayet Taşdemir, HDP Bitlis MP Mizgin Irgat, members of HDP and DBP (Democratic Regions Party) Women’s Assemblies, members of Peace Mothers’ Assembly, representatives of Platform of Lawyers for Freedom (ÖHP), the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) and Human Rights Association (İHD) and many women attended the conference.
 
HDP MP Dirayet Taşdemir made the opening speech of the conference and she stated that the people have faced a difficult process for the last two years; “This conference will stretch our solidarity and struggle, as women. The liquidation status on the Kurdish people will not maintain itself anymore. Because, the women’s organized struggle will end this. As women, we were constantly told to bow to our fate. But we won’t accept the fate appraised for us. We will stretch our struggle against ongoing fascism like Sakine Cansız, who didn’t bow down to tortures during Kenan Evren period.”
 
After the opening speech, the conference continued as closed to the press.
