MARDİN - The trustee appointed to Derik Municipality has cut down all trees in Ahmet Kaya Park of the district under the name of “renovation”.

 

The trustee appointed to Mardin’s Derik Municipality by a statutory decree issued under the state of emergency has cut down all trees in Ahmet Kaya Park of the district. After the seizure of the municipality, the appointed trustee had pulled down 80 historic houses on the excuse that “there are guns and drugs” in the houses. The trustee has cut down all trees in the park under the name of “renovation”.

 

As the cutting of the trees continues, the police have blockaded the park. The citizens reacting to the cutting of the trees said, “The trustee doesn’t serve us, he just destroys. They don’t have other jobs. They will cut down more trees.”
