NEWS CENTER - ‘Marriage regulation’ allowing the muftis to perform civil marriages has been published in the Official Gazette.

 

Draft Law on the Amendment of the Civil Registry Services Act and Some Other Laws allowing the muftis to perform civil marriages was passed from the Parliament despite all the objections of women. According to the “Marriage regulation” published in the Official Gazette today, Interior Ministry can give authority to the muftis in districts and provinces to perform civil marriages.

 

As of today, the muftis can perform civil marriages.
