DİYARBAKIR – Diyarbakır 9th High Criminal Court has ruled for the release pending trial of Ayşe Gökkan, activist of the Free Women’s Movement.

 

Second hearing of the case opened against TJA activist Ayşe Gökkan and Gül Kızıltaş was held today by 9th High Criminal Court in Diyarbakır. On June 14,  Ayşe Gökkan and Gül Kızıltaş were taken into custody within the scope of operation launched against members and administrators of the TJA (Free Women’s Movement), DTK (Democratic Society Congress), DBP (Democratic Regions Party), HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) and HDK (Peoples’ Democratic Congress). Ayşe attended the hearing while Gül, who was released before, didn’t attend the hearing.

 

In her defense, Ayşe denied the accusations against her and she demanded her release.The court has ruled for the release pending trial of Ayşe Gökkan and adjourned the next trial to April 18, 2018.
