ANKARA – Police attacked the “We want our jobs back” action ongoing on the Yüksel Avenue for 361st day and detained four people.
The hunger strike launched by academic Nuriye Gülmen and teacher Semih Özakça, who were dismissed from their duties by emergency decrees has entered in its 241st day. The “We want our jobs back” action carried out by the supporters of educators after their arrest has entered in its 361st day.
Protesters gathered in the Konur Street and wanted to march; however police didn’t allow the protesters to go to Human Rights Monument. The protesters unfurled a banner reading, “The hunger strike on 241st day, Nuriye and Semih should be reinstated”. Police attacked the protesters and detained four people, including three women.
