Again police attack and detention on Yüksel Avenue

ANKARA –Police attacked the people gathering on Yüksel Avenue to support educators Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça for 349th time and detained four people.
As the hunger strike launched by academic Nuriye Gülmen and teacher Semih Özakça, who were dismissed from their duty by emergency decrees has entered in its 229th day, the “We want our jobs” action held by supporters of Nuriye and Semih has entered in the 349th day. The public laborers wanted to make a statement in front of the Human Rights Monument but police didn’t allow them. Thereupon, they gathered in the Konur Street and unfurled a banner reading, “The hunger strike on the 229th day, Nuriye and Semih should be reinstated”. Police tore the banner and detained Nazan Bozkurt, Gülnaz Bozkurt, İlker Işık and Mehmet Dersulu.
The detained four people were released after a while.
