Pomegranate harvest in Efrîn by women

EFRÎN – Women have started to harvest pomegranate in the Şêrava district of Efrîn Canton. As the women pick the ripe pomegranates, nature begin to be green again renewing itself.
From summer season until autumn, Efrîn and its surroundings attract attention with its trees designed with pomegranates. On October, the pomegranates become the main agenda of Efrîn. As the women pick the ripe pomegranates, nature begin to be green again renewing itself.
Basutê village of Efrîn Canton’s Şêrava district is known with its pomegranates. About 100.000 pomegranate trees are in the Basutê village. An average of 25,000 tons of pomegranates is produced by these trees per year. The harvest pomegranate starts on October continues until December.
As the women usually work in harvesting the pomegranates, this year crop is stated to be less.
