DİYARBAKIR - DTK co-chair Leyla Güven sent a letter to Emine Şenyaşar, who has been action in front of the Urfa courthouse with the demand of "justice" since March 9, on the occasion of Mother's Day. Leyla said: "Those who kill your children will definitely give an account."
Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chair and Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari MP Leyla Güven, who has been in Elazığ High-Security Prison, sent letter to the Emine Şenyaşar, who has been in a sit-in protest with the demand of "justice" since March 9, through her daughter Saliha Temizkan.
Celebrating Emine's Mother's Day in the letter, Leyla emphasized that justice will come sooner or later and that they will always struggle to bring an honorable peace.
The entire letter of Leyla Güven is as follows:
"Brave Mother,
You gave birth to your children in the lands of Suruç plain adorned with pomegranate flowers. You always worry that the stone that will touch their feet will touch me with a thousand labor. You would never have thought that one day the coffins of your children would be lined up next to each other. Because this was a pain contrary to the natural flow of life and death. However, you raised them with the story of İbrahim, who resisted the tyranny of Nemrut. You have ensured their growth with their core values with the basic awareness of being human. It is said that the person who denies the original in both religion and morality is forbidden by religion. And those who deny their essence, killed your loved ones. The mentality of those who hit the fire and the ones who lynched are the same.
Mother Emine, when I wanted to write to you, I understood once again that it is impossible to find words to describe your pain. Mother Esmer, who is the mother of Mehmet Tunç and Orhan Tunç from Cizre, stood between the coffins of her two sons and called out to the perpetrators of this persecution by putting each hand on a coffin. Mother Sakine (Arat) continued her struggle by keeping the pain of her five children alive in the depths of her heart. Although it is impossible to describe the pain you suffered while sending two of your children to the grave and one of your children to prison, unfortunately it would not be wrong to say that it is the pain that will give you strength as long as you live. You know you have a nightmare, you are at the bottom of a well, you shout, you call, but nobody hears your voice. You do not expect anyone else to hear or feel your screams when you wake up in sweat, but everyone can hear your voice. Those who say they do not hear are those who deny your pain. Those who said, "killing seven Armenians go to heaven" yesterday can also say to the Kurds they killed with the understanding of "the best Kurd is a dead Kurd", "they were already terrorists". This adiaphory and carelessness are due to that. We know very well that there is no punishment for killing a Kurd in this country. Be sure, the pain of Uğur Kaymaz, Ceylan Önkol, Şerzan Kurt, Medeni Yıldırım and the mother who gave her thousands of children to the ground is the same as yours. If the perpetrator of none is judged, this is because it is a method preferred by the powerfuls. The murderous mindset takes its courage from here.
Nowadays, those who cause mothers to cry the most will give Mother's Day messages in their speech. They will abuse the feelings of mothers by saying "Mothers are the crown of our heads", "Heaven is under the feet of mothers". Most of all, we know that the special days that capitalist modernity offers to society do not have a function other than refreshing the suffering. We have been saying for years that the best gift you can give to mothers is peace, rest, stability, and a free life.
You cannot solve this problem by bringing Diyarbakır Mothers in front of Saturday Mothers and Peace Mothers. Stop racing mothers' pain. Unless the demands of the Saturday Mothers and Peace Mothers are met, fake Mother's Day messages will make no sense to us.
Keep your heart fresh, Emine Mother, these days will surely pass. Those who kill your children will give an account. You also know that no truth has remained in the dark from history to the present. Because truth is like the sun, it always rises. Our promise to you and all mothers is that we will bring you a permanent and dignified peace that will be worthy of you in all areas of life, inside and outside.
Mother Emine, on behalf of my friends in Elazığ Prison, I kiss your painful heart and pay my respects."
