KARS - Kars Bar Association has filed a lawsuit at the Council of State regarding the circular of the General Directorate of Security on the prevention of persons recording the images or voices of the police and judicial action against them.

 

Following the Ankara and Diyarbakır Bar Associations, the Kars Bar Association also filed an annulment suit in the Council of State regarding the circular of the General Directorate of Security (EGM) regarding the prevention of persons recording the images or voices of the police and taking legal action against them.

 

'It is against the freedom of the press'

 

In the petition of the lawsuit filed by the bar association for the supersedeas and cancellation, mentioned: "The Circular has no constitutional and legal basis, does not contain any element that should be involved in an administrative act, is against the principle of the rule of law, fundamental rights and freedoms, freedom to claim rights, the right to defense, the right of the public to receive information and learn the facts, freedom of the press, freedom of communication, etc. A lawsuit has been filed against the Ministry of Interior and the General Directorate of Security at the Council of State for a decision to supersedeas first and to cancel it after the trial."
