Hunger strike action enters its 158th day

NEWS CENTER - The hunger strike launched by the prisoners to end the aggravated isolation imposed upon PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan and the increasing violations of rights in prisons is on the 158th day with the 32nd group.
With the 32nd group, the indefinite alternating hunger strike launched by Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) prisoners on November 27, 2020, demanding the lifting of the aggravated isolation imposed on PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, who has been held in İmralı F-Type High Security Closed Prison for 22 years, and an end to the increasing violations of rights in prisons, continues on the 158th day.
Zülfiye Akman, mother of Didem Akman, who took a break after her death fast for 207 days against the rights violations she experienced in İzmir Şakran Women's Closed Prison, on September 11, 2020, after the prison administration promised that her demands would be met, Zülfiye Akman called out to the public and the authorities. “As a mother, I can't sleep. Hear the voices of our children. I want some conscience. I invite everyone to be a voice for our children,” she said.
