NEWS CENTER - The hunger strike launched by prisoners against the aggravated isolation and the increasing of violations of rights in prisons continues on its 146th day.

The 30th group took over the hunger strike launched by Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) prisoners on November 27, 2020, to end the isolation imposed upon PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who has been kept under aggravated isolation in İmralı High-Security F-Type Prison for 22 years, and to end the increasing violations of rights in prisons. The action continues on its 146th day.

PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan's attorneys Raziye Öztürk, Rezan Sarıca, Faik Özgür Erol and Cengiz Yürekli applied to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to interview with their clients.

Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office imposed a six-month attorney visitation ban on September 23, 2020, on the grounds of the "Road Map" prepared in addition to Abdullah Öcalan's defense sent to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in 2009. Although the interview ban ended on March 23, neither a positive nor negative response is given to the applications made by the attorneys.

Attorneys of the Abdullah Öcalan were able to interview their clients after 8 years on 2-22 May, 12-18 June, and August 7, 2019.
