ANKARA - Politicians imprisoned sent a message from the prison they were in on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of the "political coup" against HDP.  They gave a message of determination for struggle and resistance. 

 

Imprisoned politicians Figen Yüksekdağ, Gültan Kışanak, Sebahat Tuncel, and Çağlar Demirel sent a message from the prisons where they were imprisoned about the occasion of the 4th anniversary of the "November 4" coup against the People's Democratic Party (HDP).

 

Figen Yüksekdağ: The day is the day of embracing HDP

 

HDP's former Co-Chair Figen Yüksekdağ's message is as follows: "Dear people; The attacks on our party, which represents the hope and resistance of the peoples, women and humanity, continue to become more dirty and rough every day. But of course, whatever our truth is, it is not to leave the path of hope and resistance. Those who thought they could defeat us on November 4, four years ago, were wrong, they could not, and they will not succeed. The day is the day to embrace the HDP and our historical righteousness and to strengthen our unity and solidarity. "

 

Sebahat Tuncel: ''State violence could not prevent the struggle''

 

Sebahat Tuncel, former co-chair of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP): “It has been four years since the political genocide operations against the HDP. In this process, Turkey's political, economic crisis deepened. The legal mechanism has turned into the suppression tool of the AKP-MHP fascist government. Attacks on the law of bar associations, social media law, workers' rights, and the Istanbul Convention have increased.The trustee policy applied against the Kurdish people's willpower has become a fundamental policy for the government. Nature was plundered and society continued to be oppressed by leaving it out of breath. But all these policies of pressure, hardship and cruelty, state violence; It made us stronger, stronger and more resilient, far from keeping us from struggle.

 

HDP is the leading party of everyone who believes that another life is possible that keeps the peoples, beliefs and women hoping alive. Repressions, attacks, detentions, arrests; It stems from the HDP's just struggle and its being the only alternative to the fascist power. HDP is organizing and resisting in all areas of life in order to establish a democratic, equal, free and ecological life based on the radical democracy line. This struggle will surely succeed. Nobody should doubt that. Now is the time for freedom and it is more important than ever to build the future by organizing freedom. Those who made the November 4 political coup are doomed to lose. They have came to the end of the road. We are at the beginning of the road. This is the beginning to continue for struggle. We will resist, organize and win, inside, outside, in the field, in the factory, on the street. "

 

Gültan Kışanak: '' Kurds insist on democratic politics despite injustice ''

 

Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Gültan Kışanak, who was dismissed from her job with a trustee, said: “The November 4 operation was conducted to completely block the participation of the Kurdish people in politics through democratic ways. Kurds are making an intense effort to insist on democratic politics despite all the injustices and unlawfulness they have experienced. But in the last 4 years, their participation in both local and general politics has been prevented by fascist practices. In this case, it is clear that the problem of people not only Kurds living in Turkey, and anyone who desires a democratic government is the problem. All political parties that claim to believe in democratic politics should take a clear stance on this issue and establish a strong line of struggle. We are being held as political hostages. But I would like to state once more clearly that we have not bowed to fascism, we will not!

 

Çağlar Demirel: "It is obvious that this government can no longer rule"

 

Former HDP Diyarbakır MP Çağlar Demirel: “It's been four  years! What has changed in Turkey? Repression, assimilation and arrests increased. In fact, we said that November 4 was a political coup. This political coup continues. We saw once again that the problems were not resolved, especially with a purge process directed at women, Kurds and forces of democracy. It is clear that the solution can be achieved through democratic politics and the free expression of peoples, identities and thoughts. It is clear that this government can no longer rule the country. Pandemic process with the people of Turkey have seen it more clearly. The government is trying to extend its life by using covid-19 as an excuse.

 

Even this effort will not be able to save the AKP - MHP government.

 

The peoples have become more and more poor. Hostile policies increased in domestic and foreign politics. As HDP, we were subjected to a political coup because we said this before November 4. This political coup that happened to us, all the peoples of Turkey, and was seen alive. The problem cannot be solved with arrests and hostages. It is only possible to solve this problem by recognizing the democratic willpower of the people and through the solution process. The spirit of struggle and resistance that brought us to these days will continue. We have made our word against unfair and unlawful practices and we will continue to do so.
