ŞIRNAK -Resmiye Acar, mother of Tenzile Acar, who has a chronic HBV infection in Bakırköy Women's Closed Prison, underlines that her daughter hasn't been treated and demands all sick prisons to be released immediately.

 

While there are effects of a coronavirus (Covidien-19) pandemic all over the world , the measures taken in prisons in Turkey increase cases. While prisoners try to take measures by themselve  in prisons , this situation gets worse for sick prisoners. In this period when the treatment conditions are eliminated, prisoners' families are also very anxious.

 

Resmiye Acar, mother of a chronic HBV infection prisoner Tenzile Acar, who was held in Bakırköy Women's Closed Prison, drew attention to her daughter's illness and emphasized that the sick prisoners should be released as soon as possible.

 

'How can they be treated with handcuffs?'

 

Expressing that the situation of the prisoners is very bad, Resmiye stated that the state has behaved inhumane. Noting that the administration always causes trouble for the prisoners, she stated that even the items that passed under their own hands were constantly sought. Telling the painting that arbitrary practices are very common, she said, “Their belongings are not given to them. Their food is very bad and not eatable. Tenzile is sick but not treated. They are not taken to the hospital, and when they are taken, they want to be treated in handcuffs. How could it be possible with handcuffs? " reacted to the lack of treatment by asking.

 

'There is bleeding in her throat'

 

Noting that handcuffed treatment is wrong, Resmiye said, “Soldiers and police officers enter the examination room with the prisoners and prisoners' handcuffs are not opened. It is not possible to be treated in this way. This situation does not fit humanity. This situation is an indication of the lack of justice. Tenzile is sick and not be treated. Blood flows from her throat. She has been in prison since 2016. She was tortured in detention for 15 days. They live under very difficult conditions. They are very under pressure ”.

 

'They are being left to die'

 

Saying “No precautions are taken for the disease”, Resmiye said: “They are left to die there. Where is the justice? They cannot protect themselves from illness. How can prisoners protect themselves under those conditions? They don't give them anything we send. The items they buy from the canteen are twice as expensive as outside. There is neither law nor justice. All sick prisoners must be released as soon as possible. Due to the illness, we cannot go to the sight. We can hear from her when she calls once a week. "
