Attack on ‘We want our jobs back’ action: 3 detained

ANKARA - Police attacked the “We want our jobs back” action on Yüksel Avenue ongoing for 412 days and detained three people.
 
As the hunger strike launched by dismissed educators Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça has entered in its 292nd day, the “We want our jobs back” action initiated by Nuriye and Semih in front of Human Rights Monument on Yüksel Avenue has entered its 412nd day.
 
The protesters, who wanted to make a statement in front of the Human Rights Monument, gathered in Konur Street but police didn’t allow them. The protesters unfurled the banners reading, “Nuriye and Semih should be reinstated”, “Asking for job is not a crime, Nazife Onay should be released”.
 
Police attacked the protesters and tore the banners. Police took three of them into custody.
