ANKARA-Pınar Demir, who was exiled from Muş Prison to Tarsus Prison along with Sise Bingöl and 17 people, sent a letter from prison to our news agency on right violations imposed on them. Pınar wrote in her letter that although there is no concrete evidence in her case, she has been sentenced to prison due to her ‘stance’ during her trial.
The right violations, torture as well as exile policies continue in prisons in Turkey and Kurdistan. The prisoners, who stand against to be exiled, are not allowed to meet their vital needs. Pınar Demir, who was exiled from Muş Closed Prison to Tarsus T-type Prison last month, talked about lawlessness and right violations she faces in prison through her letter.
Baby named Dersim and Sise Bingöl also exiled
Saying that the letters have been seized by the prison administration because they find them “objectionable”, Pınar stated that 17 women in a ward were exiled from Muş to Tarsus about one and half month ago. Pınar also stated that there was a baby named Dersim and 75-year-old Sise Mother among the exiled prisoners.
No concrete evidence, her stance during the trial is the evidence for get jail sentence!
Pınar stated in her letter that her jail sentence has been approved and she has been sentenced 7.5 years in prison: “They explained the approval of my seven and half years prison sentence as ‘Even if there is no concrete evidence, the stance of the person is enough for jail sentence, we obey to the court decision.’ I have been in prison for two years and Tarsus Prison is my third prison. First year, I spent my first year in Mardin, my second year in Muş. And now I am in Tarsus Prison.”
Stating that she only took her clothes on her to Tarsus prison after having three difficult days on the way to the prison, Pınar said that the prison administration didn’t give any of their belongings such as their letters, notebooks, books, kitchen stuff etc. Pınar also noted that their many personal belongings and letters left in the prison where they exiled from. Pınar’s letter continues as follows;
Investigation for having of the organization's flag in prison
“I am not the only one, who couldn’t get used to the weather of here. Dersim baby and Sise mother also couldn’t get used to it. Every day we are sick. We have six rooms here, the rest of the people are in other rooms. We heard that they had searched our ward after we had been exiled. An investigation has been opened against me on charges of having of banner, posters, and documents belonged to organization. I am sure that there was nothing illegal among my belongings because a routine search was carried every month and all things we had were taken to the prison after approved by police. I have objected to the investigation.
‘People can get used to resist against everything’
Sise mother sang today, and told a çirok (story). Couldn’t speak Zazaki language is very bad. Being a party to her emotions is very important for me but of course it is very sad to be in prison. But everyone can get used to resist and can endure everything.”
