NEWS CENTRE - The humanitarian crisis in Kobanê, which has been under siege for 16 days, is deepening with each passing day.

 

HTS, DAISH and gangs affiliated with Turkey have kept the city of Kobanê under heavy siege for 16 days. Due to the siege, the lives of more than 600,000 people are in serious danger. In particular, medicines are unavailable; baby formula and food products have largely disappeared from the markets. Due to power cuts, some sections of hospitals are unable to function, while fuel and other basic necessities are also unavailable.

 

According to the agreement reached between the QSD and HTŞ on 30 January, which came into effect on 2 February 2026, the siege on Kobanê should have been lifted. However, the siege continues.
