RIHA - Commenting on the attack of the Turkish SMO gangs on the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria, TAJÊ Diplomacy Spokesperson Sûham Şengalî said, "Turkey's attacks are against the Kurdish gains. If these gangs are not prevented, the danger will be valid for the whole region."

Following the attacks that started on 26 November in Syria, the 62-year-old Baath regime was overthrown, while Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) captured many cities in the country. On the other hand, Turkey and its SMO gangs continued their attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria.

While the question of how the situation in Syria will develop after the overthrow of the regime causes question marks in minds, the SMO gangs affiliated to Turkey launched an attack against the regions under the control of the Autonomous Administration. The Autonomous Administration, which showed great resistance against the attacks, gives the message that they will resist today in the same way as they resisted with the spirit of Kobanê in 2014.

Êzidî Free Women's Movement - Tevgera Azadiya Jinên Êzidî (TAJÊ) Diplomacy Spokesperson Sûham Şengalî made evaluations on the latest situation in Syria and the attacks launched by Turkey against Northern and Eastern Syria.

‘What happened is inhuman’

Sûham Şengalî, who said that she salutes the Rojava resistance as Shengalese women, said, "If we look at the developing situations, it will be seen that there is no local agreement, but international agreements are in effect. Because when the attacks started, the Damascus government and Russia withdrew. The US had done the same thing before when the Turkish state attacked Afrin, Serekaniye and Gire Spî. They wanted to create fear and panic among the people with the attacks. The picture given by DAIS in 2014 is given in the attacks. Tortures, massacres... These are inhumane situations. The main target of the attacks is the Autonomous Administration. Just as the aim of HTS is to overthrow the Damascus government; Turkey's attacks are against the Kurdish gains. If these gangs are not prevented, the danger will be valid for the whole region."

‘We see the mentality of DAIS’

Sûham Şengalî stated that TAJÊ will be in solidarity with the women resisting in Rojava and said, "We will do whatever we can. Because as Êzîdî women, what we experienced in the massacre in 2014 is happening today in Northern and Eastern Syria. We see the same mentality as DAIS in rapes and massacres against women. Therefore, we, as women, must raise our voices in a common way. As TAJÊ, just as we have organised for Êzîdî women, we must fight wherever a woman is subjected to such crimes against humanity.  In the images of the gangs, we see the flags of DAIS and the Turkish state."

Call to human rights organisations

‘Let us resist with the spirit of Shengal and Kobanê in 2014,’ Sûham Şengalî said: "Defending our people is our primary duty. The picture we see now is that the whole people are resisting together. Since the target of the gangs is social-genocide, there are brutal attacks against women. As TAJE, we call on human rights organisations: Take a common stance against all these attacks. We will not allow women to be kidnapped, raped and massacred, even outside Shengal. Today, millions of women have stood up with Reber Apo's philosophy; they oppose violence and rape. Let us respond to these attacks with the philosophy of ‘Jin jiyan azadî’. If we do not protect the women in Northern and Eastern Syria today; we cannot talk about women's gains."
