NEWS CENTRE - Making a statement on the attacks against North and East Syria, the France Unbowed Movement and the Parliamentary Group of France's New Popular Front (NFP) said that the model built in Rojava must be protected.

 

The developments in Syria have brought the importance of the system put forward by the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria back to the international agenda. Making a statement on the developments, the France Unbowed Movement and the Parliamentary Group of the New People's Front of France (NFP) drew attention to the importance of the model built in Rojava for the future of Syria.

 

‘The Syrian people must take their future into their own hands’

 

"The future of Syria belongs to the Syrian people", the statement read: "The Assad regime has collapsed. No one can feel sorry for it. He must be tried for grave crimes... However, the coalition of ‘fighters’ who managed to defeat him and the deep-rooted links of its leader with Al-Qaeda must be carefully assessed. Therefore, the Syrian people must take charge of their future as soon as possible. The Syrian people have all the possibilities to assume sovereignty, internal peace and national reconstruction."

 

‘The model must be protected from attacks’

 

In the statement, it was emphasised that the model implemented by the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria should be preserved and the following statements were made "The Rojava government, established with the participation of Kurds, Arabs, Assyrians and other minorities, offers a model in this process. This model must be protected from Turkey's repeated threats and attacks."

 

The statement called on regional and international powers to refrain from interfering in Syria's internal affairs, adding that war should not be a common method of solving regional problems.
