NEWS CENTER - Iraq revoked the work permit of the Belarus’ honorary consulate in Baghdad due to the refugee crisis.

 

Due to the refugee crisis on the Belarus-Poland border line for days, Iraq revoked the work permit of the Belarus’ honorary consulate in Baghdad. The spokesperson of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Es-Sahaf, announced on state television that the work permit of the honorary consulate of Belarus in Baghdad was temporarily revoked.

 

The spokesperson said, ‘’This step was taken to protect Iraqi citizens from human trafficking committed from Belarus to Poland. The Iraqi embassies in Moscow and Warsaw are coordinating the return of those who were stuck on the Belarus-Poland border’’.

 

The spokesperson said that direct flights between Iraq and Belarus were also stopped.
