DİYARBAKIR - Evaluating the AKP-MHP rulership’s policies towards Kurds, DBP Council Member Zeynep Üren underlined that the time has come for the Kurdish people to form unity against the attacks. Zeynep also evaluated that the government, which made moderate statements for the Taliban, is leading the system towards sharia, and warned that the Kurdish and Turkey peoples should be careful about this issue.
While the policy of insisting on the solutionlessness of the Kurdish question in connection with the aggravated isolation on PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan was in effect in Turkey, on the other hand, increasing racist attacks, the refugee issue and the economic crisis made the country even more complicate. The current AKP-MHP rulership wants to make their failed policies within the country invisible through ‘’cross-border operations’’. Under the name of ‘’cross-border operation’’, the government first targeted a civilian vehicle in Shengal, and then on August 17, bomb the hospital in Sikeniye, where patients were treated, causing eight deaths and four injuries.
Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Council Member Zeynep Üren made evaluations to our agency regarding the policies of the government in Turkey and its insistence on the solutionlessness in the Kurdish question.
‘There is too much chaos in the Middle East’
Drawing attention to the events in the Middle East, Zeynep said that there is a state of emergency in the region and that the hegemonic powers want to take advantage of the turmoil in the Middle East. Zeynep said: ‘’Today, there is a lot of chaos in the Middle East. We see how the situation of Iraq and the Taliban is. A human tragedy is already happening in the Middle East. The Middle East has been faced with migration and war. For 20 years, women are against the patriarchal order in Afghanistan. Women are fighting because they do not want to be slaves to the occupants and the sharia. They fought a lot and they are still fighting today. The square was left to those who oppose the nature and freedom of humanity, such as ISIS and the Taliban. After the Taliban occupied Afghanistan, America said that they had to sit at the table. The mentality of capitalism dominates the whole of the Middle East today. Capitalism moves according to whoever has the power in the Middle East.’’
‘The people of Shengal want to govern themselves’
Emphasizing that the Kurds will overcome difficulties and achieve success with unity and solidarity, Zeynep pointed to Turkey's attacks against Shengal. Zeynep said: ‘’There was a bombing in Shengal while there were people in the hospital. All Kurds should react to this. Not only women in Kurdistan, but all non-governmental organizations and parties must stand against these attacks. The KDP also needs to take a stand against the attacks. If we don't have power in society, no one will take us seriously. That is why there is a big attack on Shengal. ISIS committed a massacre against Yazidis. Even after 100 years, no one will forget the tragedy that Kurds and women suffered. Today, we see that the Yazidi people want to govern themselves and unite. They are attacking from all sides so that the Yazidi people do not get in touch with anyone. At the time of the attack, there was also the Iraqi government and the Southern government. However, both governments left Shengal in the hands of ISIS, paving the way for the genocide. For this reason, the Yazidi people believe only in themselves. We must protect Shengal and take a stand against the attacks against them. Because we Kurds have unhealed wound.’’
‘Unity should be ensured against attacks’
Zeynep also stated that there are plans and games against the Kurds in the Middle East, and underlined that the attack on the hospital in Shengal is the same as the ISIS mentality. Emphasizing that the murder of the Kurdish family in Konya was the same mentality, Zeynep continued: ‘’Kurds should take a stand for this. The KDP, Goran Movement, PUK and all Kurdish people need to see the AKP-MHP attacks against the Kurds. Unity should be ensured against these attacks. If we unite, we will be successful against these games. The gains of the Kurds are the target of the hegemonic powers. The Kurds paid a great price for their gain. There has been a great struggle against oppression and slavery for nearly 50 years. We need to take a stance worthy of the price we pay.’’
