60 people who detained in Suruç commemoration released

NEWS CENTER - During the commemoration events held yesterday for the anniversary of the Suruç Massacre, 60 people detained in Istanbul and Izmir were released.
Police attacks in many cities took place on commemoration events organized for the 33 people killed in the ISIS attack on July 20, 2015, in the Suruç district of Urfa. Many people were detained with torture in the attacks.
Istanbul
62 people were detained in the police attack on the statement made by the Suruç Families Initiative on the 6th anniversary of the Suruç Massacre in Istanbul Kadıköy Halitağa Avenue yesterday. While it was stated that the detainees were tortured during the hospital control, it was stated that the police sprayed pepper gas inside the vehicle and many people were in danger of suffocation.
50 of the 62 people detained in the Istanbul Police Department on Vatan Street were released after hospital checks. The 12 detainees are expected to be transferred to the Anatolian Courthouse in Kartal following the statements.
The names of the 12 people to be referred to the courthouse are as follows: Vedat Çınar Altan, Eren Kaya, Mısra Sapan, Volkan Atmaca, Azad Aksoy, Atakan Polat, Sedef Özer, Rıdvan Salih Gezegen, Harun Kaya, Batuhan Çotur, Hasan Doğan, Can Papila.
Izmir
10 young people who were battered and taken into custody during the police attack on the Karşıyaka Pier in İzmir were released at midnight after their statements were taken.
23 people detained in Ankara were also released after their statements were taken.
