ISTANBUL - Speaking at the Democracy Conference on the 108th day of the "justice watch", Emine Şenyaşar said: ‘’I want is only justice. We are alone in this struggle. We ask everyone to support our struggle.’’

The Democracy Conference, which aims to bring together the demands and struggles by reaching many parts of the society, and which preparations have been going on for a long time, continues at Dr. Kadir Topbaş Performance and Art Center.

Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attacks, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the massacre, spoke at the Democracy Conference on the 108th day of the "justice watch".

Speaking about the protest they started with the demand for "justice", Emine Şenyaşar emphasized that her husband and children were brutally murdered and noted that one of her sons was killed in the shop, the other son, and her husband in front of the cameras in the hospital. Stating that the camera recordings in the hospital were destroyed by the authorities, Emine said that while the murderers were walking outside, one of her sons had been kept in prison, in isolation for four years.

‘The persecution still continues’

Emphasizing that they had a shop and a happy life before the massacre, Emine said that they were constantly detained during the struggle for justice they started. Emphasizing that the persecution continues, Emine said: ‘’What did we do? They were so savage. Erdoğan is making Halil İbrahim Yıldız a MP. Doesn't he know that he is doing usury, theft, massacre? They destroyed my family. I cannot take it anymore. I cannot stay at home. I leave the house in the morning and go to the courthouse and return in the evening. I just want justice. Let them release my son in prison now. All I want is justice. We are alone in this struggle. We ask everyone to support our struggle.’’

After Emine Şenyaşar's speech, those in the hall chanted ‘Justice to Şenyaşar family’.

‘Those who committed the massacre are walking freely in society’

Ferit Şenyaşar, on the other hand, stated that three years have passed since the massacre, but the perpetrators of the massacre were walking freely in the society. Ferit said that they have been continuing their justice watch for 108 days, he continued: ‘’During this period, we were detained four times. We found ourselves in the hospital four times. We are detained because we want justice. We do not accept this. We ask for solidarity and support. We will continue our fight until justice is achieved.’’

The conference continues with the reading of the declarations prepared by the working groups.
