İZMİR - The women who participated in the condolences of the murdered Deniz Poyraz expressed that the attack was against the Kurdish people and democracy and gave the message that Turkey should confront with massacres and fight against fascism together.

 

The reactions to the murder of party employee Deniz Poyraz by Onur Gencer, who attacked the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) İzmir Provincial Organization on June 17, continue to come. After Deniz's murder, condolences have been established in many cities, especially İzmir and its districts, and vigils have been held since June 19. Visiting the condolences established in Izmir, women stated that the attack was aimed at the Kurdish people and democracy.

 

Democratic Alevi Associations (DAD) İzmir Co-chair, Nebahat Çelik, who came on a condolence, criticizes the way the perpetrator Onur Gencer, who murdered Deniz, was greeted by the police, said: ‘’The police called him ‘mate’ and detained leftists and Kurds with torture. He says in cold blood, ‘I would have killed how many people there were’. Turkey should confront its problems in order not to experience them again. We do not know if he can. Sedat Peker said, ‘Alevis be careful’. Celal Fırat called (member of the Federation of Alevi Associations) to the police and said to be prepared. We have one life, what should we prepare for? You must lay claim. If you know, you must take that precaution. This is already exclusion. We all need to be organized. We also need to criticize ourselves. We need to organize.’’

 

‘As long as we are not united, the persecution will not end’

 

Stating that these attacks have been continuing on the Kurdish people for a thousand years, Peace Mother Nüfusa Ataç said: “As long as we are united, nothing will happen to us. As long as we close our eyes and ears to the oppression, this oppression will not end, but if we hand in hand, they cannot succeed. No matter where they are in the metropolis or in the prison, they cannot finish us by murdering us. We promise all of them.’’ Finally, mentioning Turkey's attacks on the Federated Kurdistan Region, Nüfusa stated: ‘’I would like to speak to Barzani as well, let him not break the sibling. Do not be siblings with the Turks. He is good today and will be Pharaoh tomorrow.’’

 

‘Every attack on HDP is deliberate and planned’

 

Expressing that they have witnessed the massacres perpetrated by the dark forces for 40 years, former HDP employee Emine Alagöz said: ‘’We see how much the people embrace it. We have had thousands of murders for 40 years. My condolences to the family. We are ready and we will get vigil at our party. Opening a case of closure and murdering a party employee is a planned work. Everyone knows this. That is why you must be ready for anything. We will ensure social peace by uniting with democratic forces.’’

 

‘Attacks are male mind’

 

Expressing that the massacre targeted Kurds, HDP member Nurcan Acar said: ‘’We want peace. It really is cruelty. The murderer is clear, it is the mafia, it is the state...’’, while HDP member Fatma Gümüş stated: ‘’We condemn the massacre. Men killed young women and children. This is the male mind.’’
