ANKARA - The third hearing of the Kobanê Political Genocide Trial started on the third day with the defense of the detained politicians.

 

The Kobanê Political Genocide Trial, in which 108 people, 24 of whom were imprisoned, including the former Co-Chairs of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Figen Yüksekdağ and Selahattin Demirtaş and the former Co-Chair of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Sebahat Tuncel, are on trial. The third hearing started on the third day at the Ankara 22nd High-Criminal Court.

 

Many people attended 

 

The hearing held at the Sincan Prison Campus Trial Hall. HDP MPs, HDP provincial and district organization executives, bar association chairs of many cities, and many lawyers, journalists and citizens attended the hearing.

 

Figen Yüksekdağ and Selahattin Demirtaş, former Co-Mayor of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Gültan Kışanak, HDP former Central Executive Board member Zeynep Ölbeci were connected to the hearing with the Sound and Video Information System (SEGBİS) from prisons where they were detained. DBP's former Co-Chair Emine Ayna and HDP former MP Gülser Yıldırım made excuses and did not attend the hearing.

 

Sırrı Süreyya Önder, member of the İmralı Delegation, Ahmet Türk, Gülfer Akkaya and Altan Tan, , who were tried without arrest, also did not attend the hearing by making excuses.

Free Women’s Movement (TJA) activist Ayla Akat Ata, Sebahat Tuncel, HDP former spokesperson Günay Kubilay, HDP Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) member Ali Ürküt, former MPs Emine Beyza Üstün, İbrahim Binici , HDP Foreign Relations Commission member Nazmi Gür, HDP Central Executive Board member Alp Altınörs, HDP former compter Zeki Çelik, HDP former Central Executive Board members Pervin Oduncu, Ayşe Yağcı, Bircan Yorulmaz, Meryem Adıbelli, Bülent Parmaksız, İsmail Şengül, Dilek Yağ and Sibel Akdeniz, were present in the hall.

 

The evacuees joined with SEGBİS

 

HDP former Central Executive Board members Berfin Özgü Köse, Cihan Erdal and Can Memiş, who were released yesterday, attended the hearing with SEGBİS from Istanbul, while Kars Municipality Co-Mayor Ayhan Bilgen, who was replaced by a trustee, was present in the courtroom.

 

The hearing, which started with identification, continued with the defense of the detained names.
