ISTANBUL - The women, who reacted to the abolition of the Istanbul Convention on July 1, with the action they took on social media, called to be on the streets on July 1.

 

On the night of March 20, it was announced that with the signature of President Tayyip Erdogan, a decision to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention was taken. In many cities, women protested on the streets saying: "We do not accept the decision". Today, in the Official Gazette, it has published the decision to abolish the Istanbul Convention on 1 July.

 

Women started an action on their social media accounts with the hashtag #ISTANBULCONVENTIONISOUR. In the posts, a call was made "We are on the streets on July 1".
